Facebook_cover_-_open.jpgThrough various leadership conferences held across the State, the Chicano Latino Youth Leadership Project offers high school sophomores and juniors the opportunity to:

  • Develop leadership skills
  • Debate public policy issues
  • Connect with public officials
  • Network with fellow student leaders, and
  • Learn about the college application process.

Once you complete a CLYLP program, you join the CLYLP familia of more than 5,000 alumni. CLYLP offers support and unique opportunities open only to CLYLP alumni throughout their academic careers, including, scholarships, internships and fellowships.

CLYLP HIGH SCHOOL CONFERENCES
CLYLP offers four leadership program opportunities for high school sophomores and juniors:

Sacramento Leadership Conference

CLYLP’s flagship week-long conference in Sacramento is open to all 10th and 11th grade students from California high schools.

Program dates: July 22-29, 2017
Program location: Sacramento.

Los Angeles Institute

Open to 10th and 11th grade students from Los Angeles county, the program focuses on issues impacting the Los Angeles region. And yes, students can apply to the LAI AND the SLC at the same time!

Program dates: August 11-13, 2017
Program location: UC Los Angeles.

San Joaquin Valley Institute

Open to 10th and 11th grade students from Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Tulare, and Tuolumne counties, the program focuses on issues impacting the Central Valley region. And yes, students can apply to the SJVI AND the SLC at the same time!

Program dates: June 23-25, 2017
Program location: Fresno State University.


DEADLINE EXTENDED

Bay Area Institute

Open to 10th and 11th grade students from the Bay Area, students learn about issues impacting the Bay region over a three-day intensive program. The BAI is open to students from Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Mendocino, Monterey, Napa, San Benito, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano and Sonoma counties. And yes, students can apply to the BAI AND the SLC at the same time!

Program dates: June 23-25, 2017
Program location: UC Berkeley.
